All over the place

1 Oct

Hi, October.  I’m not sure how you got here so fast, but I sure hope you’re as awesome as September.

We traveled back to Ohio for some much-needed family-time in Cincinnati:

We also took a two-day detour to Miami University in Oxford to witness our friends, Sarah & Josh, tie the knot!  The celebration of love included a mini college reunion, where I danced my feetsies off with my college girls.  I met these “hotties” during our freshman year, which, was TEN YEARS AGO!  Holy cats…

It’s good to know none of us have changed much…

There was also the Classy Awards, the “Day of Mindfulness” with Thich Nhat Hanh, and hubby and I watched all five seasons of Friday Night Lights.  Phew, we were bi-zee!  Somehow, I still managed to pull off another 100+ mile month!

The 10 day weather forecast now includes Sunday, 10/9, and so far, the weather is looking mighty fine for the Long Beach Marathon.  I really have my heart set on NOT running another marathon in the pouring rain like I did at the Flying Pig, LA, and Pasadena Marathons.

This morning, hubby and I survived our first 90 minute class of Bikram Yoga–survived, being the operative word.  First of all, I truly have never sweat so much in my life (partly because the room is heated to 105 degrees, but mostly because those poses are no joke!).  I swear I was sweating everywhere, including the insides of my ears.  (More on Bikram in a future post…)

Another exciting first, Hubby and I are house hunting!  And by house hunting, I mean, we’re spending an absurd amount of time sifting through house listings online, ogling photos and adding to our “dream home wish list,” which has been exciting, overwhelming, and just plain surreal.

While hubby’s #1 dream home requirement is that it’s “in a good school district,” I’m dead set on finding a place that has a fridge with an ice-maker.  I really, really like cold beverages.  And I’m sure my future kids will too…

As for Sully, his only request is his own bed.  What a diva…

So what’s in store for October?  Unlimited sessions of Bikram, the Long Beach Marathon on 10/9, a trip to Chicago for Julie & Andrew’s nuptials on 10/15, the Rock ‘n’ Roll LA Half Marathon (in costume!) on 10/30, plus more house hunting and penny pinching!  If I can tear myself away from the Hunger Games series, maybe I should do some reading too…

What do you have in store for October?

And have you ever done Bikram?
